After breaking up with girlfriend for the fifth time, Jack Nagle goes out on a date with a Greek girl, who curses him forever. At first he doesn't believe it, but after he has a fight with a clown for a cab, is chased by people on the street wanting to beat him up, sticks a knife in his neck, and is demoted instead of promoted in his job, he starts to believe it. He asks his childhood friend Larry, a doctor who likes to walk around naked, to stay in his apartment to share rent.

Meanwhile, Melissa wants her friends to come to an art gallery event she's arranged for a hermit Russian artist and finds herself having to hide Jack, whose rash medication has splotched his face, making him look exactly like the hermit artist, Vladimir Gogol.
b: UNAIRED pc: 1001 w: Phil Baker & Drew Vaupen d: James BurrowsTo impress a girl in his building, Jack gets the first dog he can find. Unfortunately, just as things are going well with said girl, Jack's new dog has a mishap with her dog. Meanwhile, Larry has trouble adapting to the new living situation sharing Jack's attention with a dog. Melissa, on the other hand, is happy Jack is dating such a beautiful woman, especially since she has a twin brother she thinks would be right for her. (Although this episode may never see the light of day, Max Baker gives a brilliantly funny performance as the frustrated pound manager where Jack buys his dog. And Rena Sofer is wonderful as Jack's love interest of the week (before she was Ed's.)
