    Stand-up comedian Lisa Ann Walter stars as Lisa Hunter, a happily married middle-class mother of two who, after years of odd jobs and law school at night during her child-rearing years, becomes an Assistant State's Attorney for Baltimore. Eager to prove herself as a prosecutor, Lisa takes feistiness to a new level, which translates inevitably into a demanding workload and long hours that strains her family responsibilities to her daughter and her husband, a college basketball coach. Her new co-workers include fellow attorney DeeDee; her boss Jerome Nash; her rival Lyndon Knox; and the eccentric supply clerk Matt Youngster.

Meanwhile, Kevin and Lisa clash when Kevin realizes the only way his assistant coach, Brick, will get a raise is if Kevin pays him out of his own pocket.

      It's Thanksgiving time at the Hunter household, and Lisa and Kevin are looking forward to celebrating the holiday this year without the hassle of relatives. However, this day of thanks turns into a real turkey when duty calls and sends Kevin packing for a basketball-recruiting trip on the sandy shores of Maui. Lisa is devastated that her husband is taking their dream honeymoon without her and is now left to spend Thanksgiving with the office gang. When Lisa's mother, Connie drops in, things heat up a bit when she jumps to the conclusion that Lisa and Lyndon are having an affair! Meanwhile, Nash desperately tries to get closer to his visiting teenage daughter.

    11. "Boss"

      The Hunter family is in an uproar when Lisa's mother Connie moves in with them and quickly seizes control of very aspect of their lives. Hiring Connie to take care of the kids seems like such a simple solution to Lisa and Kevin. What they haven't bargained for is Connie's insistence on doing things her way - regardless of Lisa and Kevin's wishes. Desperately trying to regain control over household matters, Lisa confronts Connie, but the discussion quickly disintegrates into a mother-daughter-screaming match - with surprising results. Meanwhile, back at the office, Lisa finds herself in hot water when she defies Mr. Nash's order to plead a case instead of taking it to court. Not only does the case blow up in her face, with Nash there to see it, but he lays down the law: one more slip-up and she gets the pink slip!

    12. "Fired"

      Lisa's big mouth gets her in trouble for the last time when she violates a gag order and is promptly served with her walking papers. When the judge on the deadbeat-dad case Lisa is prosecuting issues a gag order, Mr. Nash reminds her that she is already treading on thin ice and warns her to keep her mouth shut. However, when a local radio talk-show host personally attacks her, Lisa's uncontrollable gift for gab takes over and promptly lands her in the unemployment line. In an unexpected turn of events, she gets re-hired, only to find Mr. Nash out of a job. In an attempt to get her boss's job back, she confronts the district attorney and tries to set things right so it will be a merry Christmas for all.

Lisa hopes she'll finally get some respect from her mother when she and Lyndon are assigned to prosecute the con man who swindled her mom. But things don't work out as planned when her mother begins valuing Lyndon's advice far more than Lisa's.
